Ben Poirier Ben is a longtime CRFG member. He first became interested in fruiting Myrtaceae through (CRFG co-founder) John Riley and his Myrtaceae group. On weekends Ben and his wife Mary sell plants and produce from their acre grove at Farmer's markets in Vista and Escondido Edible Myrtaceae for So. Ca. - Eugenias, Jaboticabas, Guavas and many more Fruiting Myrtaceae for subtropical climates based on his many years growing many varieties. Ben is always in search of new species to add to the collection. So some plants are recent seedlings and others are mature (25 yr) fruiting plants. Many species of Eugenia, and his favorite, the Jaboticaba, will be pictured and talked about. Other unusual and tasty fruiting genus included are Campomanesia, Psidium, Ugni, and others. |
